CNCT Inaugural Educational Conference

Advancing Cardiovascular Care Through Integrated Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT

Saturday, May 2, 2026 | 10:00-12:00 | available in HYBRID format

Chair: Kevin Boczar, President CNCT, University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Ottawa, ON
Co-Chair: Anita Chan, Vice-President CNCT, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB
The CNCT Inaugural Educational Conference is a national satellite educational event designed to highlight the evolving role of nuclear cardiology and cardiac computed tomography in contemporary cardiovascular care. This meeting will bring together clinicians, researchers, and trainees to explore how multimodality imaging can improve diagnosis, risk stratification, and personalized management across a range of cardiovascular conditions. The program will feature expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, and emerging evidence on inflammatory cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease, amyloidosis, and novel imaging applications. Emphasis will be placed on practical integration of nuclear and CT imaging into clinical workflows, alignment with current guidelines, and future research directions. This conference is highly relevant for professionals seeking to remain at the forefront of advanced cardiovascular imaging and evidence-based patient care in a rapidly evolving field.

Target audience

  • Cardiologists and cardiovascular subspecialists
  • Nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists
  • Cardiology and radiology trainees (residents and fellows)
  • Clinical researchers and imaging scientists
  • Allied health professionals involved in cardiovascular imaging and care

Learning objectives

  • Describe current and emerging clinical applications of nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT
  • Apply multimodality imaging strategies to improve cardiovascular diagnosis and risk assessment
  • Interpret advanced imaging findings in inflammatory, ischemic, and infiltrative heart disease
  • Integrate imaging evidence into clinical decision making and guideline-based care
  • Identify future research and innovation opportunities in cardiovascular imaging
